This is our Service Works x Allday Goods Santoku, hand forged by Yoshikazu in Sakai, Japan.
HANDLE: Orange Service Works inspired handle colour with a stamped 'Service Allday' mark into it. The plastic waste has been collected, washed, shredded and melted to shape. There will be variations in pattern because each handle melts differently. No two handles will ever be the same, so yours is a one-off.
BLADE: Santoku (160mm)
This is the Japanese version of a Western chef's knife. This is your all-rounder kitchen knife. Santoku translates as “three benefits” and relates to the knife's ability to slice, dice and mince.
STEEL: Aogami 2 (Blue)
This is an incredible high carbon steel, with great rust resistance and a razor sharp edge. It's also easy and quick to sharpen. This is one of the best knife steels available.
FINISH: Kurouchi
The kurouchi also known as the 'blacksmiths finish' is black scale that has been left on the blade. This is to prevent rusting (but we think it also looks great).
NUMBERED: Each knife is numbered 1 to 50.
