Congratulations on being selected to our Mini Batch! This is your unique link to purchase a Kyoto Nakiri. We are only making 44 available in this release.
Once the knife is purchased we will begin work on creating your knife. They will be finished and sent out on Friday 5th November 2021.
BLADE: Nakiri (Kyoto style)
This is your traditional Japanese vegetable knife with a slightly rounded tip.
HANDLE: Made from restaurant plastic waste
Each handle is made from restaurant waste. The plastic is blended to form a red colouring. They are all unique, no two handles will ever be the same.
STEEL: Shirogami 2 (white paper steel)
This has very high-carbon steel content, impressive purity and a razor sharp edge. Easy to sharpen.
FINISH: Kurouchi
This roughly translates as 'blacksmith's finish'. This is a traditional technique which gives the blade a black finish. This is done to reduce the reactivity on carbon steel knives.
ENGRAVING: Our partner forge have hand engraved 'AD 一日中' onto each blade.
NUMBERING: Each knife is numbered 1 to 44. The knives will be numbered in the position they're ordered.
LENGTH: 150mm (this can vary slightly because the knives are handmade)
